Victoria Beckham is collaborating with retail store Target, in a line that will give women and children a taste of her often expensive branding. With hundreds of different pieces to reach stores in 2017, more of the world will finally get the opportunity to wear an item by the 42-year-old fashion mogul.

Victoria admitted to Business Of Fashion that there were always talks between her company and Target, but that 2017 “just felt right” for an actual release. "I’ve made no secret of the fact that I wanted to put a collection out there for people who either can’t afford designer prices,” she said. “Or [who] don’t want to pay designer prices.”

The entire collection -- simply named Victoria Beckham for Target -- will comprise of 200 pieces, each of which will be priced from US$6 (AU$8) to US$70 (AU$92), with majority of the items selling under US$40 (AU$53). The 200 pieces will range from apparel and accessories for women, young girls, toddlers and babies. The collection will be Victoria’s first step into childrenswear.

"Designing for children is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time, so I was incredibly excited to be able to incorporate childrenswear into this collection," she said in an interview with Target. "When working on it, I really felt I could tell a story and have fun with it -- and I think the clothes reflect just how much fun I had designing them!"

Victoria admitted as well that her Target line takes heavy inspiration from Victoria, Victoria Beckham, her read-to-wear line that was launched in 2008. “I’ve always said [the VVB collection] is the other side to my personality, it’s the other half of my suitcase,” she said. “The fun side of me."
