Google released a new Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update for a range of high-end smartphones and tablets. The primary intention was to remove few additional bugs and improve Lollipop experience. The devices include all Nexus smartphones and tablets and Samsung Galaxy S6 Duos and Motorola Moto X.

Samsung's Galaxy S6 Duos

Till now the Samsung Galaxy S6 Duos is not available in many markets. Users from such limited markets can now update it to Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, the latest version of Google’s mobile OS. The over-the-air update will be available at a size of 629 MB download according to GSM Arena. Such updates are staggered and release in phases. Thus, uses will be getting the update notification in few days time. Users need to ensure a stable Wi-Fi connection and at least 50% charged battery. Users who are still waiting for notification can go to Settings > About Device> Software Updates. This is a way to know the update’s availability.

As reported by GMS Arena, the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop rollout for the Samsung Galaxy S6 Duos is predominant in Dubai and the United Arab Emirates and will be soon released in other regions. Samsung owners can also turn to Samsung Kies to get the software to save time.

The new software update will introduced some security enhancements and thus, will improve the stability, User Interface and performance of the handset. Now users can enjoy wallpaper parallax effect and controlled shutter speed.

Since the last few weeks, the single SIM variant of Samsung Galaxy S6 (single-SIM variant) has been receiving the latest update, depending on the carrier and region.

Google Nexus 6

Google selected its own coveted brand Nexus to release the previous Android 5.0 and 5.1 Lollipop software updates. Back in April, Google released a latest Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update for all Nexus smartphones and tablets. In late May, the update the latest update was released for the Nexus 6 on various carriers like Sprint, T-Mobile, and US Cellular followed by AT&T.

Now, after almost 3 months Verizon finally announced the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update for Nexus 6. Now, Nexus 6 owners will get improved performance and better battery life. As reported by GottaBe Mobile, the update should start rolling over this weekend and reach most users latest by next week.

Users can go to Settings > About phone > and tap Check for Updates to see if the Verizon Nexus 6 Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update is ready to download and install.
