Trouble will continue to follow the Salvatore brothers as their Ripper mother Lily (Annie Wersching) and her family of Heretics seeks revenge in the next episode of “The Vampire Diaries” Season 7. The synopsis and promo video of “The Vampire Diaries” Season 7, episode 2 titled “Never Let Me Go” tease on Lily’s personal retaliation at Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley) for breaking the truce that they made in Mystic Falls.

Spoiler Alert: This feature contains major “The Vampire Diaries” Season 7 spoilers.

In “The Vampire Diaries” Season 7 premiere episode, Damon has broken the truce that Stefan made with Lily when he and Bonnie (Kat Graham) killed Malcolm (Justice Leak), a member of Lily’s Heretics family. The next episode’s synopsis in a Carter Matt report teases that Damon will have no choice but to fix the damage he made starting with Lily before the already tense situation with the Heretics become more unruly.

However, Lily will be one step ahead in carrying out a harsh plan that can hit her son Damon where it hurts the most. Another “The Vampire Diaries” character who will be a pawn in Lily’s revenge plan with the Heretics is Caroline Forbes (Candice King).

Enzo (Michael Malarkey) has chosen to be on Lily’s side in the premiere episode when he captured Caroline. In the new episode’s promo video, Damon finds out from Stefan that Lily has Caroline and the blonde vampire’s life is in danger as Enzo and Heretics Mary Louise (Teressa Liane) torture her.

The other storylines in the new episode will involve the mysterious artifact that Alaric Saltzman (Matt Davis) acquired and the risky life or death decision Matt Donovan (Zach Roerig) will make. Another major storyline expected to be explored in the next episode is the three-year time jump where a new female threat comes after the Salvatore brothers.

“The Vampire Diaries” executive producer Julie Plec teased in an interview with TVLine that the new season will catch up to the flashforward storyline but refused to share details on the mysterious female with the crossbow weapon. “That’s Stephen Amell in drag. [Laughs] I can’t say, but a lot of people have told me their theories and there have been a couple doozies. I think it’s more fun to keep people guessing,” Plec told TVLine.

“The Vampire Diaries” Season 7 returns with episode 2 titled “Never Let Me Go” on Thursday night, Oct. 15. The brand new episode will air at 8/7c on the CW Network.
