The holiday season for the Mystic Falls gang will not be a happy one in the mid-season finale episode of "The Vampire Diaries" Season 6. Executive producer Julie Plec teased that the TVD characters will have a "bittersweet" holiday experience as they continue to deal with their issues in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 6, episode 10 titled "Christmas Through Your Eyes."

According to the episode's synopsis in a Wet Paint report, it is going to be a gloomy Christmas for the characters of the CW TV series. Bonnie (Kat Graham) is still stuck in 1994 so the Bennett witch will be reminiscing the happier times she had with her friends in Mystic Falls as she attempts to replicate her favorite holiday traditions.

Caroline (Candice Accola) will also be feeling down with the holidays approaching because they cannot go home to Mystic Falls to celebrate Christmas because of the still active anti-magic boundary spell. To cheer up the blonde vampire, mom Sheriff Forbes (Marguerite MacIntyre) will bring the holiday spirit to her daughter in her Whitmore College dorm room.

However, the mid-season finale episode synopsis teased that Stefan (Paul Wesley) will be forced to deliver some devastating news to Caroline.

As for Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) and Matt (Zach Roerig), the two best friends will be helping each other out in a plan to take down Enzo (Michael Malarkey). However, Jeremy will be concerned with Matt who will take things too far with his plan against the Augustine vampire.

The synopsis further teased that Jo (Jodi Lyn O'Keefe) is missing so Alaric (Matt Davis) will be on a mission to find his girlfriend with Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Elena (Nina Dobrev) helping him. Meanwhile, Tyler (Michael Trevino) will come up with a "risky plan" that could help witch twins Luke (Chris Brochu) and Liv (Penelope Mitchell).

It looks like the mid-season finale episode of "The Vampire Diaries" will focus the Gemini Coven and Kai's (Chris Wood) desire to be the leader. Fans found out about the Gemini coven in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 6, episode 8 titled "Fade Into You" as well as Kai's relationship with Jo, Liv and Luke.

The upcoming episodes of "The Vampire Diaries" Season 6 are expected to put together the puzzle pieces on the Gemini coven which appears to be the new mythology of the latest season. Executive producer Julie Plec teased in a TV Line report that the mid-season finale episode will have some "big, big, big chapter-ending moves" at the ending that will "change a lot for everyone."

"The Vampire Diaries" Season 6 mid-season finale titled "Christmas Through Your Eyes" is scheduled to air on Thursday night, Dec. 11, at 8/7c on the CW Network.
