The upcoming episode of “The Vampire Diaries” Season 6 will show a different Caroline Forbes (Candice Accola) after her mom, Sheriff Forbes (Marguerite MacIntyre) died. Caroline decided to turn off her humanity switch in “The Vampire Diaries” Season 6, Episode 15 titled “Let Her Go” because she no longer wants to feel the pain from losing her mother.

Warning: Spoilers ahead! This feature contains major spoilers on “The Vampire Diaries” Season 6, Episode 16 titled “The Downward Spiral.”

An extended promo video for the next episode of the supernatural CW TV series further teased on the dark side of TVD character Caroline Forbes. In the promo video, the other TVD characters also had different opinions and reactions to the turned off humanity of their blonde vampire friend.

Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley) is worried about Caroline because he thinks she is going to snap from this new behavior. However, Elena (Nina Dobrev) argues that the new Caroline appears to be okay for now because she is “not actually hurting anyone.”

“No students are missing,” Elena further points out to Stefan. “Uh-oh, Caroline fly off the rails? If so, I called it,” Damon (Ian Somerhalder) declares over the phone.

The extended promo video also teased the return of actor Marco James as Liam. “What did you do to Liam?” Elena asks.

Aside from the storyline on Caroline’s humanity, the TVD fans will also find out more about Stefan and Damon’s mom, Lily Salvatore (Annie Wersching). The upcoming episode’s synopsis teased that Damon will be seeking answers from Kai (Chris Wood) about the Gemini Coven’s prison worlds.

However, the synopsis added that Damon’s world will be turned upside down when he hears some devastating news about his mother. The synopsis for “The Vampire Diaries” Season 6, Episode 16 further teased that Bonnie will start to struggle with the effects of coming back to the present time after spending months in a prison world while Enzo (Michael Malarkey) becomes more intrigued with Stefan’s great-niece, Sarah Salvatore (Tristin Mays).

“The Vampire Diaries” Season 6 returns on Thursday night, March 12, at 8 p.m. ET on the CW Network.
