'Vampire Diaries' Season 6, Episode 4 'Black Hole Sun' Recap/Spoilers: Hitching A Ride Home For Free, What Damon Did In May 10, 1994

Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Bonnie (Kat Graham) are reluctantly teaming up with Kai (Chris Wood), the person who knows how to get them out of reliving May 10, 1994 over and over again. However, the Salvatore vampire must go through that date again because Kai wants to know what he did to determine if he deserves to come along on their way back home.

Spoiler Alert: This feature contains major spoilers on "The Vampire Diaries" Season 6, episode 4 titled "Black Hole Sun."

Kai (Chris Wood) wants to know what really happened in May 10, 1994 but Damon does not want to talk about the day where he did the worst thing ever. Flashback scenes showed Damon returning to the Salvatore mansion in 1994 to make amends with his brother, Stefan (Paul Wesley), and live with their distant nephew Zach Salvatore and his pregnant girl, Gail.

However, problems between the Salvatore brothers started to escalate when Damon fed on Gail and compelled her to forget. Stefan locked up Damon and took his daylight ring to punish him for his actions but the eclipse that day allowed Damon to walk around.

With Damon's behavior, the Salvatore vampire ended up on a killing spree with Gail as his last victim right in front of Zach and Stefan. As Damon reveals his past, Bonnie also found out Kai's interesting past.

Kai revealed that the place Damon calls his personal hell is actually his prison hell after the Gemini Coven sent him there as punishment for killing his family members. The new twisted character obviously wants to get out but he also wants Damon and Bonnie's full cooperation in fulfilling their "let's go back home" mission.

Meanwhile, Stefan decided to go back home to Savannah, Georgia after their failed Mystic Falls border search on Sarah (Gabrielle Walsh), Jeremy's (Steven R. McQueen) new girl who knows about his vampire sister Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Caroline (Candice Accola). However, Elena intervened and wanted Stefan to prove that his system on moving on actually works.

Alaric (Matt Davis) is on daddy-duty with Jeremy. The Original vampire initially took the young Gilbert to the emergency clinic to receive a hangover cure from Jo (Jodi Lyn O'Keefe). Then, Alaric used his personal experiences in helping Jeremy pull himself together after losing Bonnie.

Matt (Zach Roerig) finally finds out Tripp's (Colin Ferguson) dark secret. The vampire hunter revealed that the death of his wife is the reason he is conducting his vampire killing mission and he showed Matt his little vampire prison with Enzo (Michael Malarkey) all chained up.

Tripp further revealed that he will use Enzo in exposing his other vampire friends and Matt's facial reaction clearly reads "We are in trouble."

Jeremy heads home at the Salvatore mansion with Sarah waiting for him inside. Sarah wants to find out who her father is and showed Jeremy a picture she found. It turns out Sarah's parents are Gail and Zach Salvatore.

In Savannah, Stefan showed Elena what it is like to start over in life. However, Elena finds out through Stefan's altercation with a guy at a bar that it is the younger Salvatore's way of dealing with the death of his brother.

An argument between the two pushed Stefan to finally tell Elena about what she did in order to move on from Damon. Elena confronted Alaric about it but he made her read her last entry in her diary basically hoping that she will not ask Alaric to undo the compulsion.

Stefan is busy working at the auto repair shop when Ivy (Emily Chang), covered in blood, showed up. Stefan is shocked to find out that Ivy is now a vampire after she revealed that Enzo made her drink his blood and now she feels so thirsty.

"The Vampire Diaries" Season 6 will return with episode 5 titled "The World Has Turned and Left Me Here" on Thursday night, Oct. 30, at 8 p.m. ET on the CW Network.
