'Vampire Diaries' Season 6, Episode 3 'Welcome to Paradise' Recap/Spoilers: Damon And Bonnie Meets Mysterious Crossword Puzzle Solver Kai, Stefan Gets Back At Enzo
The swimming hole party is supposed to be a paradise in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 6, episode 3 titled "Welcome to Paradise" but trouble received an invitation, attended the event and posed a threat to the Mystic Falls gang. In Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Bonnie's (Kat Graham) current world, the mysterious person that solved the crossword puzzle finally revealed himself.
Spoiler Alert: This feature contains major spoilers on "The Vampire Diaries" Season 6, episode 3 titled "Welcome to Paradise."
Stefan (Paul Wesley), who is angry at Enzo (Michael Malarkey) for killing his new girlfriend Ivy (Emily Chang), compels his boss at the auto repair shop to give him a couple of days off so he could find Enzo and kill him. Stefan finds out from Elena (Nina Dobrev) that Enzo will go to the swimming hole with Caroline (Candice Accola) so he decided to come to back at his enemy.
Elena tries to bond again with her friends at the swimming hole to show that they are not drifting apart but it did not end well. Tyler (Michael Trevino) refused to take shots because he is avoiding things that can make him angry or trigger his werewolf curse while Caroline's feelings with Stefan's behaviour and the new Elena made it impossible for her to have fun.
Even Elena's plan of setting up Liam (Marco James) with her blonde BFF failed because the guy ended up kissing her instead. Elena also finds out at the swimming hole about Jeremy's (Steven R. McQueen) connection with Sarah (Gabrielle Walsh), the girl that she attacked but Caroline compelled her to forget that it happened.
Stefan saw an opportunity to strike at Enzo while he is on ice-delivery-duty but Jay, a guy that Matt trains with at the community protection service, interfered revealing his true identity which is a vampire hunter. Enzo may have saved Stefan's life but his actions still did not change the Salvatore vampire's revenge plan.
The second Stefan vs. Enzo scene happened when Tripp (Colin Ferguson), whose vampire-hunting ways were revealed in "Yellow Ledbetter," failed to subdue Enzo with vervain. Stefan showed up and shot Enzo twice from behind with the crossbow that Jay had.
Tripp learns that Stefan is also another member of the founding families. Stefan was about to shoot Enzo again but Tripp stopped him and said that he has his own way of killing vampires. "Just make sure it's painful," Stefan stated.
Back at the swimming hole, Jeremy realizes that Caroline's compulsion on Sarah did not work when the girl Caroline compelled to get ice after the Stefan-Enzo fiasco failed to do what she has been told. The girl explained to Jeremy that she lost interest in getting ice when she arrived at Mystic Falls.
Sarah is only pretending that she forgot about Elena's attack. To make things worse, Jeremy cannot find the new girl in town.
Meanwhile, Damon and Bonnie are still arguing about the mysterious person who is also stuck with them in 1994. Eventually, the person who solved the crossword puzzle for Bonnie in "Yellow Ledbetter" revealed himself at the grocery store.
His name is Kai (Chris Wood) and he admitted about following Damon around because he wants to kill him. Bonnie was able to save Damon from Kai's vervain attack with her witch powers coming back.
Kai revealed in the end that endangering Damon's life was part of his plan to make Bonnie's magical powers to return. Kai further told Bonnie that her magic is very essential in getting them out of reliving May 10, 1994 over and over again.
"The Vampire Diaries" Season 6 will return with episode 4 titled "Black Hole Sun" on Thursday night, Oct. 23, at 8 p.m. ET on the CW Network.
