Many entertainment observers have said that this era has already entered the Golden Age of television. A lot of original content is now seen on TV instead of books, movies or video games. This looks like it has attracted a lot of potential investors which include some industry pioneers and icons.

Another vampire themed series might be debuting on TV soon, but it’s not like most other vampire series since this one is a true pioneer. Reports say that Anne Rice’s well renowned and iconic "Vampire Chronicles" series could be making its way to TV soon.

The American horror novelist, whose works have been the basis of many different spin-offs, has shared on Facebook recently that she has regained the rights to her books which could point out to an open-ended TV series. She reveals that a topnotch quality TV series is currently her dream for the pioneering franchise that she created. She also adds that in this “Golden Age” of television, such as series would be the best way to let the stories of these vampire icons unfold.

Entertainment Weekly reports that the author is currently working closely with her son and fellow author Christopher Rice. They are developing a pilot script and a detailed outline for an open-ended series that will be a faithful reproduction of Lestat’s story as told exactly in the books. Rice also hopes that this planned series would deliver “Game of Thrones style” and assures her readers that what they want is also what she wants.

The book series is currently made up of 11 books with the 12th one, “Prince Lestat and the Realms of Atlantis,” coming out of November 29. Two books have previously been remade for films. “Interview with the Vampire” was released in 1994 and starred Tom Cruise as Lestat, alongside Brad Pitt and Kirsten Dunst. In 2002, “Queen of the Damned” was released, wherein Aaliyah played Queen Akasha and Stuart Townsend took the lead role. For this upcoming series, Anne and Christopher Rice themselves will serve as executive producers, which will likely begin with “The Vampire Lestat.”
