The days of vampires are certainly not over even with the end of Stephanie Meyer's novels, "Twilight." In fact, a new breed of vampires is set to take over Hollywood. Here's all there is to know about Richelle Mead's best-selling novels set for a film adaptation, "Vampire Academy."

Mention teenage vampires to almost anyone and the film "Twilight" would instantly come to mind. However, Richelle Mead's novel, "Vampire Academy" is set to change all that. New York Times best seller has already started production with the film set for a release next year. The book synopsis is as follows:

"St. Vladimir's Academy isn't just any boarding school-it's a hidden place where vampires are educated in the ways of magic and half-human teens train to protect them. Rose Hathaway is a Dhampir, a bodyguard for her best friend Lissa, a Moroi Vampire Princess. They've been on the run, but now they're being dragged back to St. Vladimir's-the very place where they're most in danger..."

"Rose and Lissa become enmeshed in forbidden romance, the Academy's ruthless social scene, and unspeakable nighttime rituals. But they must be careful lest the Strigoi-the world's fiercest and most dangerous vampires-make Lissa one of them forever."

The film is set for a February 2014 release. Production has already begun with a few well-known Hollywood stars on board the film.
