1 | Motorola Moto 360

One of the most stylish and elegant wearables in the market, the Moto 360 is priced at US$299.99 (AU$424) on Motorola’s official website.

The Moto 360 offers two separate ranges for men and women, and comes in two sizes - 42mm and 46mm diameter - as well as two different screen sizes - 1.37-inch and 1.56-inch. Moreover, with Moto Maker, users can choose from hundreds of straps, bezels and colours. The Android Wear wearable device sports an ambient light sensor which enables the smartwatch to adjust according to the surrounding brightness.

2 | LG Watch R

The G Watch R features a 1.3-inch circular P-OLED display screen and runs on Android Wear. The smart wearable device is compatible with both Android 4.3 or later and iOS 8.2 or higher versions.

The water and dust resistant device comes with a heart rate monitor, gyroscope, accelerometer, barometer and compass. Google Store is now selling G Watch R at US$249 (AU$351), which was previously priced at US$299 (AU$422).

3 | Sony SmartWatch 3

The Sony SmartWatch 3, with its built-in GPS connectivity is a tough competitor to the current Moto 360 Sport. The wearable device sports a 1.6-inch square screen with a resolution of 320x320 pixels. It comes with a microphone, an internal compass, an accelerometer and a gyroscope.

Priced at $249.99 (AU$354), the Sony SmartWatch 3 comes in five colour variants including Stainless Steel, Black, Yellow, Leather Brown and Leather Black. Running on Android Wear, the smartwatch can also be paired with a wireless headset via Bluetooth.

4 | Samsung Gear Live

The compact, metallic, buttonless and stylish Gear Live could be one of the best Valentine’s Day gifts for your partner. The smartwatch comes with a 1.63-inch AMOLED screen (320x320 pixels). With a built-in pedometer and heart rate monitor, the Gear Live is powered by Google Android Wear. Samsung sells it at $199.99 (AU$283).

5 | Asus ZenWatch 2

Best Buy and Google are retailing the Asus ZenWatch 2 at US$149.99 (AU$212). The Asus ZenWatch 2 is available in two sizes, either sporting a 1.63-inch and 1.45-inch display. Crafted with high-quality stainless steel, the smartwatch can be customised with nine easily changeable straps including rubber, steel, leather and even a Swarovski band.

According to Wareable, the smartwatch makes use of all the new features introduced with the Android Wear Lollipop 5.1 update. The ZenWatch 2 is better known for its fast charging tech which juices up the device up to 50 percent in just 30 minutes.
