Sony decided to sell-off Vaio a year ago but Vaio’s now making a comeback as its own company with a first product that's, well, uniquely artistic.

Vaio’s first device to be released in the U.S. since its comeback is the artistic Vaio Z Canvas. As suggested by the unit's moniker, the Vaio Z Canvas is a tablet. Although it’s clearly not the first tablet in today's tech market, it’s unlike any other, as pointed out by Tech Times.

This particular mobile device doesn’t run on a mobile operating system. Instead, it runs a full version of Windows 10.

As part of its product package, it also features a keyboard accessory that can be detached and re-attached for those that want to type. For users that want to scribble, however, there’s a battery powered stylus. There’s also editing software that can be used for making 3D and 2D images on the device.

The Vaio Z Canvas, which costs $2,199 or AU$3,058, only sports a 12-inch display but the specs it packs are pretty much like the ones featured on a 15-inch MacBook Pro, as pointed out by CNET.

The screen has 2,560 x 1,704 pixel resolution with an aspect ratio of 3:2. This means users get to experience the quality of a full DSLR image without the need for cropping. The device also features a Core i7 processor, as well as 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage.

Taking a quick look at the Vaio Z Canvas' specs, it seems to be a spitting image of the Surface Pro 3 from Microsoft, especially with the keyboard accessory. What separates Vaio's new device from its rivals is that artists are its main target demographic.
