If latest reports are to be believed, mysterious Xiaomi smartphone specs have surfaced on GFXBench. These have fuelled speculation that Xiaomi is readying itself for yet another smartphone launch. While some believe that the leaked specs are that of an upgraded Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, updated with Android 7.1.1 Nougat, there are also many who believe it is a new smartphone altogether. Another possibility is that it is a wrongly listed specs sheet. While people debate on the listed specs, Xiaomi has not commented on it yet.

According to Tech Times, earlier reports had claimed that the Redmi Note 3 would get an Android update. This is the primary reason why many believe that the leaked specs are that of an updated Redmi Note 3. Things will only become clear if Xiaomi releases an official statement or the mysterious phone suddenly makes an appearance in coming weeks, chances of which are unlikely. The leaked specs sheet have, however, confirmed one thing and that is Xiaomi is likely coming up with an update real soon.

Xiaomi has confirmed that it will not attend MWC 2017 but that does not mean the company won’t come up with an update. The leaked specs sheet on GFXBench shows a 5.7-inch device with an FHD screen and screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. Contrarily, the Redmi Note 3 sports a 5.5-inch screen. Thus, chances of this mysterious Xiaomi device being the Redmi Note 3 are slim. The listing further reveals a hexa-core Snapdragon 650 processor, Adreno 510 GPU, 3GB RAM, 32GB storage, 16MP primary camera and 5MP secondary camera.

The Xiaomi device will reportedly run on Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS, writes Android Headlines. Meanwhile, reports also suggest that the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 Blue Coral variant may be released very soon. The leak, originating from Weibo, looks authentic. Xiaomi is walking the same path as Samsung, which also introduced a similar Coral Blue colour option for its flagship Galaxy S7 Edge. With so many colour variants for the Mi Note 2, it seems Xiaomi is trying to increase the smartphone’s attractiveness.

This is Xiaomi’s marketing strategy to instil fresh enthusiasm in consumers about the device. Stay tuned on IBT AU for more updates on Xiaomi smartphones.
