Android 5.0 releases SDK Google

Android 5.0.2 Lollipop XXU2COD4 firmware is now available for the Samsung Galaxy Alpha G850F LTE model. It is currently available in France via Samsung Kies and OTA update, but users can manually install it via ODIN flash tool.

Requirements:

1. Apply to the Samsung Galaxy Alpha SM-G850F LTE model only.

2. Create a backup of all data stored on the smartphone.

3. Battery level should be at least 80 per cent to avoid power interruptions.

4. Download and install the USB drivers of Samsung Galaxy Alpha on the computer.

5. Enable USB debugging on the smartphone found in the Settings menu.

6. Download the official Android 5.0.2 Lollipop software for Samsung Galaxy Alpha and the ODIN flash tool on the computer.

Warning: We are not responsible for any errors which may occur on the device. Read and follow the instructions carefully to avoid damaging the device. Do this at your own risk.

Flashing Instructions:

1. Extract the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop G850FXXU2COD4 zip file to an easily found location on the computer.

2. Turn off the Samsung Galaxy Alpha G850F LTE.

3. Reboot the device into Download mode by pressing and holding the volume down and home keys at the same time. An Android image will appear indicating that the device reached Download mode.

4. Launch the ODIN flash tool on the computer.

5. Connect the smartphone to the computer using a USB cable. ID:COM on the ODIN flash tool should turn yellow indicating that the device has connected successfully.

6. Select the following files to prepare for flashing the firmware to the smartphone:

a. Click on “AP” by selecting the file with AP on its name.

b. Click on “CP” and select the file with MODEM in its name. Skip if no file is found.

c. Click on “CSC” and select the file with CSC in its name. Skip if no file is found.

d. Click on “PIT” and select the file with .pit in its name. Skip if no file is found.

e. Click on “BL” and select the file with BL in its name. Skip if no file is found.

f. Depending on the version of ODIN, the labels are different. AP stands as PDA, BL for Bootloader and CP for MODEM.

7. After setting up the files, check on Auto Reboot and F.Reset Time on the ODIN flash tool. Check on the Re-Partition option only if .pit file has been selected.

8. Click on the Start button to begin the installation process. Do not disconnect the device, turn off or put the machine into sleep to avoid disrupting the installation process.

9. Once the installation has been completed, the smartphone will reboot automatically and you can disconnect it upon reaching the home screen.
