When Sony unveiled Xperia T3 in June, the handset was expected to hit the store shelves in Q3 2014. According to recent report, the ultra-thin Sony Xperia T3 will be released on July 14 in Asia. Moreover, Hong Kong is going to be the first country to see the release.

Sony's official Facebook page specific to Hong Kong says the new Xperia T3 is priced at 2,998 HKD that roughly translates to US$386, AU$412 and €284, according to Phone Arena.

With a thickness of only 0.28-inches (or 7 mm) the slim Xperia T3 is marketed as the world's slimmest 5.3-inches device. The Xperia T3 is mid-range smartphone that comes with good specifications, ultra slim exterior, impressive display and a friendly price tag.

Sony Xperia T3 features a whopping 5.3-inches IPS LCD display with a decent 720 x 1,280 pixels screen resolution and 277 ppi pixel density. When it comes to design, the T3 features a premium-looking stainless steel frame and the phone weighs 148 g.

As a matter of fact, Xperia series of phones' unique display experience is note-worthy. Sony combines TV technologies in its mobile phones with HD TRILUMINOS Display and Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2. As Sony puts it, this combination gives stunning viewing experience that provides "redder reds and bluer blues," in addition to offering great viewing angles and wider colour range.

The new Sony handset is powered by a quad-core (Qualcomm Snapdragon 400) Cortex-A7 processor clocked at 1.4 GHz and packs 1 GB of RAM. Moreover, the device runs on Android v4.4 KitKat along with Sony's custom UI. When it comes to internal storage, the Xperia T3 comes with only 8 GB memory capacity but it supports microSD card for expansion up to a good 32 GB.

The device also houses an 8 MP rear-facing camera with LED flash and a 1.1 MP front-facing camera unit. Also, the battery seems solid with a non-removable Li-Ion 2,500 mAh unit that can provide up to 14 hours of 3G talk time and 688 hours of 3G stand-by time. As far as connectivity goes, in addition to standard Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and LTE, the Xperia T3 supports NFC (Near Field Communication).

Also, Sony's standard colour choices for the Xperia series of phones are maintained in the new Xperia T3 as well. Hence, the same three shades of purple, black, and white are in offer. The release date pertaining to other countries will be out soon.
