Sony’s anticipated upcoming horror-game “Until Dawn,” is an ode to classic horror films. The game puts a group of teenagers, in a struggle for survival against killers who have pinned them down a desolate place. To give players the authentic feel of a horror film, the game is riddled with choices that could mean life or death. Sony has recently released a new live-action interactive trailer, that gives players a taste of what’s to come in “Until Dawn”.

In collaboration with MoFilm, Sony released a dark and scary choose-your-own-adventure trailer for the upcoming “Until Dawn.” The trailer, seen below demonstrates one of the core mechanics of “Until Dawn,” which gives players a choice that will have life or death consequences.

This video is part of a miniseries dubbed “Choices,” so fans of the anticipated game should expect more from MoFilm and Sony. The first trailer shows a showering woman, who is apparently stalked by an unknown killer with a clown mask. Upon noticing that there is another person in the house with her, the viewer will be given three choices; go back, defend and explore. All three choices lead to different outcomes so it is advisable to go and try all three. It is also worth noting that the interactive features of the trailer only work on desktops.

The game has been in development for a long time and it has gone through several changes. Its biggest change was its transition from the Playstation 3 to the current gen Playstation 4. In a recent gameplay by Gamespot, fans were treated to a preview of how the game actually plays, and how big of an impact each choice makes. Gamespot editor Zorine Te, said that the game was gripping and its characters were relatable and hard to leave behind.

"Until Dawn's" release date is set for August 25. And it stars some big Hollywood names including Hayden Panettiere and Sami Ralek.
