Sony has released the much-awaited Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact in the U.S. on Nov. 4. This device is touted to be world's slimmest and lightest 8-inch slate. The 32 GB, Wi-Fi-only Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact model is available for purchase from Sony U.S.' online store at 499.99 USD.

Meanwhile, the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact with LTE will hit store shelves very soon. It is expected to cost a tad more than the Wi-Fi-only model. The Sony Xperia Z3 Compact smartphone, on the other hand, was reported to be released alongside the tablet. However, the device will now be released on Nov. 17 in the U.S. The Xperia Z3 Compact will set the buyers back by 529.99 USD, without a contract. The handset comes in white, black, green and orange hues, according to Phone Arena.

Both Xperia devices can now be ordered from Sony U.S. Those who are interested in buying the flagship smartphone can get it from T-Mobile. All the aforementioned Xperia devices run on Android KitKat OS. Nevertheless, Google's latest version, Android v5.0 Lollipop, is in the offing. It will reportedly be rolled out in early 2015, according to Phone Arena.

Key specifications of the killer Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact include an 8.0-inch display and 1,200 x 1,920 pixels resolution and 283 ppi pixel density. The tablet is powered by a quad-core (Qualcomm Snapdragon 801) processor clocked at 2.5 GHz and is equipped with a solid 3 GB of RAM. Moving on to the camera spec, the device sports an 8.1 MP primary unit with digital zoom and a 2.2 MP front-facing snapper. Moreover, the device is available with 16 GB or 32 GB internal storage with microSD card slot for expansion up to 128 GB. It also supports both NFC and 4G LTE.

The standout feature of the device is its humongous 4,500 mAh battery. Apparently, this battery offers 23 hours of 3G talk time and 1300 hours of 3G standby time. This slim tablet is 6.4 mm thick and weighs only 270 g. Adding cherry on top, the device features a dust-tight and water-resistant exterior with IP68 and IP65 certifications.
