In the past couple of days, the internet has been buzzing about Kim Kardashian's latest photo shoot for Paper Magazine. This latest controversial stint has caused the image of her bare bottom to surface everywhere. These shots were followed by a couple more releases in which the reality TV star gave a front profile of similar nature.

After the pics became viral, the rumours that the star charged a whooping high amount for the racy photo shoot began surfacing. However, E!News revealed recently that all these speculations were untrue.

The reality TV queen has reportedly charged nothing for the shoot. Kardashian-West did the racy eyebrow raising cover shoot for the magazine absolutely free. A rep from Paper Magazine has admitted the same to E!News.

"Kim was not paid to appear in the magazine," as told by the rep. It is also reported that the real motivation for Kardashian-West was the man behind the lens.

The 34-year-old celebrity was reportedly excited to pose for the French photographer Jean-Paul Goude, who is a graphic designer, photographer and illustrator renowned worldwide for his outstanding work.

The recent much talked about photo where Kardashian-West is seen balancing a glass on her butt and popping the champagne into it is nothing new. It is a recreation of an old iconic picture taken by the same photographer.

In fact, the iconic original picture was taken to depict the miserable state of a Khoikhoi woman named Saartjie Baartman who lived during the 19th century. She was exhibited in Europe as a freak show attraction and spent her entire life being poked fun at and treated as sexual object, as reported by the Grio.

The original shot taken to depict such plight was taken by Goude 30 years ago. It showed a naked black woman standing in front of a deep blue wall while doing the same stunt of popping the champagne in the glass placed on top of her naked butt. The picture was published in the book 'Jungle Fever', which came out in 1982, and had been criticized for showcasing black women as slaves and sexual objects.

Amidst Photoshop allegations surrounding Kardashian-West's Paper Magazine cover, very few among us are aware of the working techniques employed by the legendary photographer. He has been famous for photographing distinctive black women in poses, which ranged from athletic to primitive. As reported by the Styleite, he would then literally cut the image into different pieces and reassemble as per his image or preconceived idea to create something even more formidable and slightly different.
