“Grand Theft Auto V” was originally intended to launch in the fall of 2014 but was pushed to January, before being delayed to March 24, and then Rockstar finally settled on a release of April 14. It’s been an extremely long wait for “GTA V”; thankfully, the wait is nearing an end, and the developer has released a pair of cracking PC version trailer to prove it.

The first trailer focuses on the game’s story and can be viewed in high bit rate on the official Rockstar website. Those looking for a YouTube mirror will find one on the Eurogamer Portugal YouTube channel.

The second trailer is hosted on the Rockstar Games YouTube channel and offers a glimpse of the high-octane, frenetic gameplay on offer via the Online Heists mode. Unfortunately, while Rockstar has clearly labelled the video as PC footage, it doesn’t appear to have been uploaded at 60fps. GamingBolt reports that PC gamers can start downloading “GTA V” on April 7 on Steam, one week before launch. Gamers will need to reserve at least 65 GB of hard disk space in order to install the game.

Shortly after the latest delay, a statement was issued on the official Rockstar website, explaining the reasons the game had been pushed back. The studio cited a need to add an additional layer of polish to ensure the title shipped in the best possible shape and offered gamers who pre-ordered the game a small token of in-game cash.

“Our apologies to PC gamers worldwide who have been counting down the days until the launch of the game, but a bit more time is needed to ensure that the game is as polished as possible, and to make certain that both Heists and the ‘GTA’ Online experience are ready to roll out on day one for PC. As a gesture of thanks for your understanding, we will grant anyone who has pre-ordered the game an additional $200,000 in-game cash for use in ‘GTA’ Online,” read the statement.

PC Gamers will be happy to know that Rockstar seems to have come good on their word to ensure the PC version is up to standard. The developer promised deep configuration options and the most technically advanced and graphically accomplished version of the game, and this looks to be the case. The latest trailers show a gorgeous-looking game with better draw distances than on PS4 and Xbox One, running at twice the framerate to boot.

Just like the console versions, the PC game will support up to 30 players in “GTA” Online, but it will also offer support for 4K displays, Nvidia 3D Vision and triple monitor configurations. Added to that, the game’s technical requirements don’t appear to be especially steep, ensuring that even those with modest gaming PCs should be able to play the game.
