The fans of "Two and a Half" men on CBS might not have accepted the sexy and dapper Ashton Kutcher in place of the quintessential alcohol loving Charlie Sheen, but the ex-husband of Demi-Moore is making a good amount of money on the small screen. The 35-year-old topped the list for the second consecutive year with $24 million earned between June 2012 and June 2013.

So what makes the "Jobs" star the highest paid actor on the television? He was lucky enough to join the hit CBS sitcom "Two and a Half Men" when it was the most watched show on TV. Charlie Sheen was ousted from the hit TV series and Kutcher replaced him at a crucial time when Sheen was criticized for his aggressive behaviour which stemmed up from his alcohol abuse. Charlie Sheen held the number one spot in 2011.

"Two and a Half Men" needed glam factor at that time and Kutcher just provided that. His long locks, captivating smile and the tall-guy-making-you-go-weak looks were enough to get the strongest female following on the show. He was adorned by his fans as a movie star and already had a good fan following there too. The fact that he is an equally successful movie star also brought in a new set of audience to the already popular sitcom.

His co-star Jon Cryer, who plays the role of Alan in "Two and a Half Men", was not far behind and captured the second spot with the earnings of $21 million in the Forbes' annual list of TV's highest-paid actors. Angus T. Jones - their 19-year-old co-star on the show bagged the seventh spot with about $11 million.

Ray Romano bagged the third spot in the list with $16 million because of the royalties he still collects from "Everybody Loves Raymond," Forbes reports.

The fourth spot is taken by two actors - "NCIS" star Mark Harmon and "How I Met Your Mother" star and Emmys host Neil Patrick Harris. They both have a tie as they both earned an estimated $15 million over that 12-month period. "Grey's Anatomy" star Patrick Dempsey takes the fifth spot with $13 million in earnings.
