“Twin Peaks” season 3 will premiere in May almost after 26 years. There is a long time until fans will get to watch their favourite drama serial on TV again. Until then, they are revisiting the old seasons and the prequel movie “Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me” (which even showrunner David Lynch said would have a connection with the forthcoming show) and also listening to the iconic soundtrack composed by Angelo Badalamenti.

Theme song

Angelo Badalamenti is known for his works with David Lynch, especially the sweeping and evocative soundtrack for the show. It is tough to imagine Lynch’s unique world without him. He has worked with Lynch for various films, including "Blue Velvet," "The Straight Story" as well as "Mulholland Drive." In 1990, Badalamenti won the Grammy Award for Best Pop Instrumental Performance for his "Twin Peaks Theme."

Badalamenti’s score for the 1990 TV series has the vocals of Julee Cruise and the lyrics penned by Lynch. He has also worked with Lynch for the prequel film “Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me.”

“Badalamenti handles all the production, arrangements, and orchestrations; he plays keyboards, even contributing some gruff vocals to the set,” according to Pitchfork.com.

Location

“Twin Peaks” shows two mountains looming “Welcome to Twin Peaks Population 51,201” sign but if the people of Snoqualmie, Washington are to be believed there is only mountain. There isn’t a Mount Si twin that is shown in the series.

“I personally haven’t heard anyone mention how the name ‘Twin Peaks’ isn’t an accurate representation of the town — I think most people understand it’s a fictional show and look past the fact that there’s only one peak in town,” Salish Lodge & Spa’s hotel manager Denny Grosclaude told Huffington Post.

'Twin Peaks' festival

Snoqualmie’s popularity has grown majorly because of the TV show. Some people even call it “Twin Peaks.” Fans from across the world come to the festival to meet the cast members, see the shooting locations and talk to the fellow fans sharing their common interests.

“The annual Twin Peaks Festival always brings crowds of ‘Peaks Freaks’ and many stay with us at Salish, which we love,” Grosclaude said. The next festival is scheduled to take place on July 28-30. The tickets will go on sale on Feb. 11. For more information on the festival, visit Twinpeaksfest.com.

“Twin Peaks” season 3 will air on May 21 in the US at 9PM ET on Showtime. The show will be streamed on Stan in Australia, at the same time, 1PM on May 22. The 2017 season comprises of 18 one-hour-long episodes.
