‘True Blood' Anna Paquin Tweets About Stephen Moyer's Casting In 'The Bastard Executioner'
After wrapping up her HBO vampire series “True Blood,” Anna Paquin is ecstatic to share the news about her co-star Stephen Moyer landing a gig on Kurt Sutter’s “The Bastard Executioner.” Cast as Milus Corbett is the medieval drama show, Moyer’s casting was announced on Wednesday, Feb. 25, along with “Sons of Anarchy” Katey Sagal and Australian theatre actor Lee Jones as the lead.
“.@_smoyer I will now stop tweeting fangirl style about your new gig,” the Academy Award winning actress wrote on her Twitter account. “But working with @sutterink @KateySagal? i'm jealous.” The actress also tweeted that she is tempted to embarrass Moyer and Sutter in front of 135k people.
Moyer’s character was described as a stree smart and noble savvy, and was once a marshal in Ventris’ army. He also served as Ventris’ Chamberlain, Chancellor and Justiciar.
Series creator Kurt Sutter is also set to return to the small screen alongside with his wife for the second time around. Playing The Dark Mute, the “Sons of Anarchy” showrunner is the mate and guardian to Sagal’s Annora of Alder, who is both mystical and beautiful.
Dubbed as Sutter’s follow-up to his FX biker drama series, “The Bastard Executioner” is set to begin its production on March 19 in Wales. Sutter tweeted back in July 2014 that he is pushing to have his new show in Fall 2015.
Meanwhile, the 44-year-old British actor and the 31-year-old Canadian-born actress met on the set of “True Blood” and started dating in 2007. They announced their engagement in 2009 and married in August 2010. The couple are proud parents of fraternal twins, Charlie and Poppy.
Moyer once directed his wife’s love scenes in the show and described it as all in a day’s work. Paquin admitted that it’s not awkward as what everybody thinks since this is the kind of work she’s been doing for the past seasons of “True Blood.”
Known for her character as Sookie Stackhouse, Paquin won a Golden Globe Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Drama in 2009. “True Blood” Season 7 ended in August 2014 with the last episode entitled “Farewell to Bon Temps.”
