Troye Sivan sings the events of 2013. The Australian actor released “Zeitgeist 2013 (A Musical Zeitgeist)” on YouTube, recounting the most talked about events that happened last year in a catchy, melodic song.

The YouTube sensation, who is best known for playing the young James Howlett in “X-Men Origins: Wolverine,” first came up with a year-end summary at the end of 2012, singing about the popularity of Gangnam Style, Barack Obama’s re-election, One Direction, the London Olympics, Drake’s YOLO, and Carly Jepsen among others.

The song became such a hit among his over 1.4 million YouTube subscribers that he was asked to do a 2013 song.

“You guys asked for it so without further ado, I give you the 2013 song. I hope you guys like it,” Sivan introduced his video.

His song documented the most talked about in pop culture around the world, starting from Miley Cyrus’ controversial twerking, Lorde’s emergence, Prince George’s birth, Tom Daley’s coming out, and Robin Thicke’s “sexist and dumb” song.

Sivan also mentioned his own coming out, which he announced with a YouTube Vlog in August.

Last year he sang about former Disney star Cole Sprouse joining Tumblr. This year, he got “excited” with his twin Dylan Sprouse’s nude photos.

He also paid tribute to Nelson Mandela with a few lines.

Sivan is an accomplished singer and actor, having starred in a few film and theatre roles. His popularity, however, has been boosted by his presence on social media, particularly on YouTube, in which he uploads his video blogs (vlogs). His page has become one of the most subscribed channels in Australia, with over 30 million views in total.

His “Zeitgeist 2013” has almost one million views since he uploaded it a week before, while his latest upload already has over 113,000 views just after five hours.

2013 Song

Zeitgeist 2012: Year in Review (A Musical Zeitgeist)

The lyrics for Zeitgeist 2013:

Oh and I, don't know how to feel
Just like that, 2013, it's been real
Oh and I, think i just shed a tear
2013, it's been a kick ass year

Miley went on twerked on stage,
Made the whole world fill with rage,
But she sold records, like she was taught
And then came around little old Lorde

Speaking of royals, they had a baby
And then came out - Mr. Tom Daley!
The world's realising it's not a choice
I'm still Troye, i just happen to like boys.

Robin Thicke went to Number 1
Even though the song was sexist and dumb
Yeah that's right, i'm talking Blurred Lines
But oh shit wait, let's talk about Amanda Bynes!

Everybody says she went a bit koo-koo
Telling Drake he should murder her hoo-hoo
We say she's the one who's going cray,
But here we are asking What The Fox Say?

Oh and I, don't know how to feel
Just like that, 2013, it's been real
Oh and I, think i just shed a tear
2013, it's been a kick ass year

The US Government needed a break,
Probably to go do the Harlem Shake
Catching Fire was good, dudes
Got me as excited as the Dylan Sprouse nudes

The 1D boys said This Is Us
Beyonce dropped an album without a fuss,
Rest in peace to Nelson Mandela,
To you Madiba, we're indebted forever

Oh and I, don't know how to feel
Just like that, 2013, it's been real
Oh and I, think i just shed a tear
2013, it's been a kick ass year

Oh and I, don't know how to feel
Just like that, 2013, it's been real
Oh and I, think i just shed a tear
2013, it's been a kick ass year
