One of Liverpool's possible ready-made solutions in January - Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema - will not leave the Santiago Bernabeu.

Sky Sports pundit Guillermo Balague is of the opinion that the French international is one of the core of the Blancos squad in the ongoing campaign, and that they might suffer dearly, should they let him go in the middle of the season.

"There is no way Benzema would go to Liverpool," said Balague.

"It is impossible. He is essential to the Real team and a favourite of President Florentino Perez."

The former Olympique Lyon man has already found the back of the net 13 times in both the La Liga and the Champions League, while his unselfishness has already produced him 9 assists (11 in all competitions).

Nevertheless, there is still hope for the Merseyside outfit as Real boss Carlo Ancelloti revealed that the Bernabeu hierarchy are considering cashing in on Benzema to acquire desired attackers.

"Benzema is on thin ice. If they receive a big bid, they will not be hesitant," Ancelloti told the Express.

"The dream is to combine Kun Aguero, Marco Reus and Cristiano Ronaldo, who would become the best front line in the world of football."
