Manchester United has reportedly been given the green-light to offer Real Madrid’s Sergio Ramos a deal worth more than $106 million in a bid to strengthen the Red Devils campaign this season. The 29-year-old Ramos has been heavily linked to move to Old Trafford this summer after reports that the Spanish international has been displeased with the changes in Real.

Spanish journalist Pablo Garcia Cuervo claimed over Radio Marca that Ramos has decided to exit Real as reported by Express.co.uk. Cuervo also revealed that Real president Florentino Perez wanted the Spanish defender to leave Bernabeu.

"Florentino also wants Sergio to leave, but Real Madrid want it to seem like Sergio is the one who wants to leave because he isn’t very ‘Madridista’,” Cuervo said.

However, Real footballer Pepe hinted that Ramos will stay with Los Blancos despite being continually talked up with a move to United. Pepe said that he is sure Ramos will not go anywhere because he “loves” to stay with Real.

“It's not going through anyone's head that Sergio won't be here with us,” Pepe said as reported by Daily Star. “I'm sure he'll be with us because he loves us and the club."

According to Daily Mail, Ramos is “very close” to signing a new contract with Real. Ramos is currently in China as part of Real’s preseason tour. Club president Perez will also be in China to hold talks with Ramos over a new deal. The Spanish professional has two years remaining on his current contract, but has long insisted on leaving Real for United.

Meanwhile, Real will compete in the Audi Cup in Munich after friendlies with Inter and AC Milan in China. Los Blancos have already taken part in two preseason games in Australia capped by a 4-1 win over Manchester City last week.
