Google has just revealed their newest Android OS, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

This newest Android update from Google would bring about new updates and features for Android-based devices. There are actually a lot of new updates and features with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and here are the top three features that would be beneficial for Android users:

Android Jelly Bean Maps

One of the key features of Android Jelly Bean is the improved features for their Maps. Users that are not connected through the Internet could select an area even if they are offline. Users can also browser Google offers even when offline. There is also a compass mode for indoor view as well as indoor walking directions in Maps. Meanwhile, the street view for Google Maps are made more accurate and responsive.

Android Jelly Bean Notifications

As for notifications, Android users could easily see and take action on notifications based on the redesigned notifications shade. Notifications are now grouped together based on the same application. Users can also have the option of either expanding or collapsing these notifications. There is also an option for image preview in notifications after taking a screenshot. The screenshot can be directly shared from the notification. There is also a touch-hold option in order to identify the application that alerted it and also to turn off notifications or uninstall the application when it is needed.

Android Jelly Bean Face Unlock

Another feature that is improved in Android Jelly Bean is the face unlock feature. The face unlock feature is now much more faster and accurate. The startup also has a new animation which makes it much smoother to run. Users can improve the feature's face matching accuracy through calibrating the face in different conditions as well as through the use of different accessories. There is a "live person" feature which requires uses to "blink" in order to unlock the device.

The official release date of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean in Australia has not yet been discloses. As of the moment, none of the top mobile providers in Australia (Telstra, Optus and Vodafone) have tested Android Jelly Bean in their networks.
