Every year, kids in their Halloween costumes knock from one door to the next dreaming of getting a full-size Mars bar or Butterfingers then find out afterwards to have a pulp boxes of raisins or disgusting candy. Here are some of the worst candies given out during Halloween.

#8 Almond Joy

It's nutty, it's coconut-ty and filled with nougat. Sometimes it even feels like you're eating peanuts. Since it's difficult to determine what they are, let's just say they're weird. This shouldn't be anywhere near the kids unless you are confident they love it.

#7 Fruit Snacks

For fear of being known as the house that gives away a close candy equivalent, some homes are no longer buying fruit snacks. Some kids think they are so not cool.

#6 Apples With Razors

They are dangerous and definitely not candy. You don't want to get the kids wounded in Halloween 2013. Please don't try this at all or you might get calls from your neighbors the next day.

#5 Pretzels

Yes, they're nice sometimes. You can have them salty or sweet but it's just not candy. Although pretzels are not candy, many homes still give them away.

#4 Colorful Candy-like, Jelly Belly-like Stuff That Comes From a Big Bag

Some homes get big bags of whatever items that disguise themselves as candy and put them in large bowls so that kids can dip their hands into them and grab a handful. While this can be fun, it's probably a violation of sanitation laws. Please get something that's individually wrapped at least.

#4 Candy Corn

Invented in 1880s for mimicking a corn kernel, candy corn is made of corn syrup, sugar and wax. The most disappointing thing about candy corn is that you can really taste the wax, corn syrup, and sugar in it.

#3 Raisins

Chocolate with nuts and raisins are fine but raisins without the chocolate can be somewhat a disappointment.

#2 Necco Wafers

They sport orange flavor in a chalky mess. There's really not much to say except please spare the children!

#1 Spare Change

The kids are not asking for a donation for some charity nor are they working for UNICEF. Use your spare change somewhere else or use them to buy candy. Coins aren't candy either.
