There is probably a thin line that separates athletes from Hollywood celebrities. That is why when you're in either field, you could easily become what they call, a cross over star.

Being an athlete can bring fame and popularity the same way if you are working in Hollywood. So it can't be helped if some athletes before and now had to drop or temporarily replace their team uniformsto be able to enjoy the treats and thrills of being under the spotlight.

From Arnold Schwarzenegger to David Beckham, here are five athletes who picked the glitzy life of Hollywood over their athletic careers.

Arnold Schwarzenegger - Before he became a politician and even before he rose to fame as "Terminator," Arnold Schwarzenegger was first a professional bodybuilder. In 1970, he starred in a movie "Hercules of New York" and from then on, his career in Hollywood started.

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson - He was able to charm his way to the hearts of wrestling fans but even after his decision to skip to acting, people did actually love him more. He used to play football for the University of Miami and the Calgary Stampedes, then he became a professional wrestler at WWE. Currently, Dwayne has made several Hollywood movies like "The Mummy Returns," "The Scorpion King," "The Game Plan," "Fast Five" and more.

Bruce Jenner - Apart from being the Kardashian's stepdad, he is also the biological father of Kylie and Kendall Jenner. Before he appeared on TV reality show, "Keeping Up With The Kardashians," Bruce Jenner was once a athlete. In 1976, Jenner broke the world record of the decathlon at the Olympics Game.

Anna Kournikova - She is considered one of the hottest tennis players on court. But off court, she does live up to the reputation. Kournikova has once appeared in People Magazine's 50 Most Beautiful list. Apart from that, she has become a print celebrity having appeared on several magazines like FHM, Maxim and Sports Illustrated.

David Beckham -If he had the talent, there is no doubt that David Beckham would have smoothly fitted in the limelight of Hollywood. Being one of the most good looking athletes in the world, he has been a major fashion endorser for brands like H&M. He also made appearances in movies "Bend It Like Beckham" and "The Goal." Of course having a celebrity wife like Victoria Beckham also makes it impossible for him to not be part of Tinsel Town.
