Twenty-one year old Phillip Phillips from Leesburg, Georgia is one of the Final Three contestants in American Idol Season 11, and here are his best performances.

Phillip is the only one among the three finalists who has never been in the bottom three. (On Thursday’s results show, host Ryan Seacrest did not announce the bottom two.)

Since his auditions in Savannah, Georgia, Phillip has gained early YouTube popularity for his covers of "Superstition" by Stevie Wonder and "Thriller" by Michael Jackson. His audition was seen on the premiere episode of Season 11.

On American Idol’s website, Phillip gave interesting Q & A one-liners:

Question: If you could model your career after an artist, who would it be and why?
Answer: Um I really don't know.

Question: Which theme week would be most challenging to you and why?
Answer: I don't know what the theme weeks are. Ha-ha.

Question: If you couldn't sing, what other talent would you most like to have?
Answer: Belly dancing I guess.

Question: Who has influenced your personal musical style?
Answer: My brother-in-law, Ben Neil. (No, fans, not Dave Matthews, after all.)

On the performance show featuring AI’s Top 8, Neil played his guitar on stage as Phillip covered Genesis’ “That’s All.” By this time, the judges have seen Phillip’s keen sense of individuality. He has not been following any other artist’s footsteps.

“You just love being who you are," judge Jennifer Lopez noted.

Phillip is extremely shy, but he said he kept pushing himself to perform because he could not see himself doing anything else.
