Discovered by the Girlfriend Model Search as a teenager and then dubbed by V magazine as 'the biggest fashion export from Down Under since The Body' - Abbey has made her toothy mark from the esteemed runways of Prada, Gucci and Chanel to all the covers of major fashion magazine. She's also starred in Fendi, Gucci, Versace and cK campaigns and is still the Portman face! She's recently shot for the Gucci 2013 campaign after she went a tad renegade - flashing a message for gun control on her naked abdomen at the prestigious Met Gala in New York.

Andrej Pejic

So, this one is a bit of a surprise - named model of the moment by Fashion Canada, Melbourne-born model Andrej is a male who walks for both male and female catalog lines! He hit the big time after landing runway roles for Marc Jacobs and Jean Paul Gaultier. With his lithe figure and androgynous features, Andrej has had editorial features in NY Mag and Dossier, and recently landed the January 2013 cover of ELLE Serbia, dressed as a woman. In 2011, he even modeled for a push-up bra in the HEMA campaign!

Bambi Northwood-Blyth

She would normally be considered too short by modeling standards for the runway - standing at 5'8". But this Aussie beauty with her trademark bold brows from has walked for the likes of Chanel and Balenciaga along with pocketing campaigns of Armani Jeans, Marc by Marc Jacobs and H&M. Plus, after getting engaged to fashion-brand owner Dan Single, they have announced a new fashion label to hit the markets sometime next summer.

Catherine McNeil

Her almond eyes, high cheekbones and perfect cupid's bow make her a quintessential favourite among all. She made her runway debut in 2007 after she moved to New York and has recently landed a Vogue cover and starred in countless big brand ad campaigns for Givenchy, Zac Posen, Carolina Herrera and Dior as well as Seafolly. After a self-imposed modeling hiatus from 2009-2011, she's all over billboards with a host of new campaigns - including signing on as the new face of Australian brand Kookai, replacing Nicole Trunfio.

Elle Macpherson

From tweeting nude selfies of herself to owning a multi-million dollar lingerie line, skincare range and television career; Elle "the Body" Macpherson very much has "it"! News is she just got married to Jeffery Soffer in a secret wedding in Fiji but that would not affect her appeal at all. The Aussie supermodel has an astonishing five Sports Illustrated covers under her belt as well as countless editorials, films and some serious runway (read catwalk) miles.

Gemma Ward

In 2008, a girl with wide eyes set the ramp on fire. But then she bid farewell to concentrate on an acting career and got roles in "The Great Gatsby" and Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides". Rumours of her re-signing with her modeling agent IMG in NYC rebounded but now it's confirmed that she is expecting a child with her long-time boyfriend, model David Prett with whom she lives in Perth.

Just a few days back on July 29, she was spotted enjoying brunch with her multimillionaire boyfriend Stavros Niarchos III in New York. This ravishing 27-year-old made sure all eyes were on her more than usual as she casually flashed her large diamond ring sparking engagement rumors.

Julia Nobis

Sydney-dweller Julia Nobis was 'discovered' while she still a high school student and since then, there has been no stopping her! She has walked the ramp for countless designers and the world's biggest names. From gracing the pages of Vogue , Grazia and Harper's Bazaar to doing campaigns for Michael Kors, Proenza Schouler and Balenciaga - the world seems to be Julia's oyster. The Myer Season Launch that's scheduled tomorrow, August 8 will see Julia Nobis there.

Miranda Kerr

The second last on the list is also of the most successful Aussie exports. Miranda Kerr rules the ramp and walked the runway for Louis Vuitton, Chanel and Balenciaga - even when she was pregnant with her now adorable son Flynn. She was chosen to model the $2.5 million bra of Victoria's Secret in 2011 and is still one of the lead girls. Last year she snatched the Mango campaign from Kate Moss and again is one of the most glamorous off-duty models the world has seen. Just recently, her latest Mango campaign was released with a punk-rock look that really suited her.

Nicole Trunfio

Nicole Trunfio won the Australian series of Search for a Supermodel, fair and square, resulting in a modeling contract and many, many runway appearances. Her kitty Dolce & Gabanna, Versace and Dior and closer to home, she is a brand ambassador for David Jones.she moved with bag and baggage to the Big Apple and has covers in Vogue, Elle as well as Harper's Bazaar plus launched her own jewelry collection. Along with her guitarist boyfriend Gary Clark Jr, she's also involved in many philanthropic causes.
