“Tony Hawk Pro Skater 5” is already out in North America, but fans have to prepare their consoles for two massive downloads for the game. The first is the 4.6 GB base game. The second is the Day One patch for the game, which is the bigger file.

The size of the first patch of “Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5” is a whopping 7.7 GB. This is almost double the size of the base game, Game Cabin reports. However, developer Robomodo has been quiet about the contents of the patch.

“Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5” has a huge fan base since it began as a PlayStation One classic, but they were reportedly criticising the massive changes to the gameplay and graphics of the long-running skating series even before its launch. Trailers showed off the odd art style of the game. The huge patch is expected to be an overhaul to the title’s graphics.

Many reviewers note that the art style of “Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5” makes it look more like a PlayStation 2 title rather than a new-generation game. Aside from that, media outlets were reportedly not given any download codes for the game prior to its launch. All review codes were apparently sent out on the morning of Sept. 29.

As of now, first impressions of the game are scarce, but those who have reviewed the game note that it is riddled with glitches.

Eurogamer has recently posted a hands-on impression of the title. Unfortunately, according to the site, even after the massive Day One patch, the game still remains buggy. A video shows skater Tony Hawk spinning and flailing around uncontrollably in-game.

Aside from the glitches, the character design is also reportedly below today’s standards in graphics. The characters were not rendered properly and the textures were a bit rough, the report claims.

“Tony Hawk Pro Skater 5” is already out for the PS4 and Xbox One in North America, but it will arrive in the UK on Oct. 2.
