It took a bit longer than expected, but the people in Square Enix have finally ported “Tomb Raider II” to Android devices. The port of the PlayStation classic has been in the iTunes App Store for quite some time but is now available in Google Play for Android users.

The game's story has Lara Croft searching for the Dagger of Xian, which supposedly possesses the power of a dragon. Unfortunately, she’s not the only one who wants it, as Lara will have to take on a crazy cult and a number of warrior monks, according to Droid Gamers.

“Tomb Raider II” is an enhanced version of the game that came out in 1998. It adds a number of new features, including new moves and weapons for Lara to use. There are also more enemies to shoot, new vehicles to ride and a number of locations not available in the original version of the game.

In addition to those, the title also comes with “The Golden Mask” expansion, which has its own story and four new levels to play through. If all the secrets are found in the four levels, a bonus fifth level is unlocked for the player to explore.

Although the game sounds like a huge improvement over the original, Pocket Gamer reports that the title doesn’t suit mobile devices very well. If fans want to replay the classic title, they will supposedly need a gamepad for mobile devices, which should make for a better experience.

Should fans decide to get the port, “Tomb Raider II” costs US$0.99 (AU$1.39), which is cheap by Square Enix standards. Whether this is a special sale price or not has yet to be confirmed, but those interested in the game should get it while it's cheap.

Bringing the game to Android is an interesting move on the part of Square Enix, especially with “Rise of the Tomb Raider” coming to Xbox One next week on Nov. 10. The game has a lot of hype behind it and is exclusive to Microsoft for a year and will only come to PlayStation 4 by in December.
