Tom Hanks' son, Chet, revealed that he is seeking treatment for cocaine addiction. The good news is that the therapy is working fine as he is now 50 days sober.

Chet shared his story with the public through an Instagram video message. "I've been struggling with substance abuse since I was 16 years old," shared Chet in the message. "Finally at the age of 24 I decided to get some help". This story came through Daily News along with the warning that the video also had graphic language.

Hanks' son has admitted all his struggles with cocaine and alcohol abuse in the video posted on Instagram. The 'Forrest Gump' actor's son had reportedly known that a tabloid could possibly be the one to break the story detailing his rehab stunt for cocaine addiction to the public. The 24-year-old man, whose real name is Chester, shared the video to tell the truth himself to his 16000 fans and followers.

He also added that he is thankful to his family and everyone who cares about him. He also acknowledged that programs, such as NA and AA, have helped him fight and overcome the drug and alcohol addiction issues. Chet is one of the four children raised by the movie star, who also has another son with Rita Wilson.

Apart from his popular parents, Chet is also known for his impressive rapping skills. He goes with a stage name 'Chet Haze' and has a degree in theatre under his belt from Northwestern University. His first stunt in the limelight had been his popular take on Wiz Khalifa's song, 'Black and Yellow', in which his own version was called 'White and Purple'.

Since college, the junior Hanks has pursued his career in music with the company he founded, Kinetik Entertainment. Although he had previously referred to weed and alcohol in his lyrics as well, his abuse had escalated to harder drugs this year as he developed a problem with cocaine, as told by Daily Mail.

At present, neither Hanks nor Wilson has publicly made a statement about their son's addiction problems. However, the rehab treatment appears to be working fine as Chet declared in the video post that he is happiest he has ever been after remaining 50 days without any drug.
