Tom Ford has just shown off a pocket Apple Watch that has gotten a lot of praise from 19th-century CEOs. Not wearing the famous smartwatch on the wrist may have some of the item’s functionality reduced, but fashion journalists have given the device their thumbs-up approval.

Apple CEO Steve Jobs has approved of Ford’s design – which largely limited direct skin contact between the wearable device and the wearer’s skin. Instead of wearing it on his wrist, Ford removed the watch’s main part from its strap and connected it to a type of chain that is usually used for pocket watches, as pointed out in CNET.

“I would not wear an Apple Watch on my wrist,” Ford said during London Collections Fashion Week, according to Financial Times. “I wear it on a fob.”

The pocket Apple Watch was first introduced to social media through a picture on Instagram. Since Ford’s creation will be “on a fob,” the Apple Watch’s users no longer have to worry about the device monitoring their heart rate – a health feature that the device is strongly marketing to the public.

Apparently, the design was all about adapting the device to a very traditional look of tailoring – pretty much like his entire menswear collection. This new collection of his will reportedly be launched online for the very first time on mrporter.com, while his womenswear collection will be showcased on net-a-porter.com.

The Apple Watch may have gotten some special treatment with an 18-karat gold edition purposely for Karl Lagerfield, but it was Ford who gave the famous wearable device a sartorial overhaul, according to Independent.

Ford has garnered a huge following among today’s biggest celebrities, such as Beyonce, Rita Ora, Jay Z, Miley Cyrus, and many more. It is expected that they will not hesitate in adapting to his latest digital creation as well.
