A YouTube video titled “Mary Poppins Sings Death Metal” has gone viral. The two-minute video shows Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke singing the 1964 Disney musical film “Mary Poppins” song “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” death metal style.

Written by Richard M. Sherman and his brother Robert Sherman, “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” was chosen for “Mary Poppins,” which required songs that sounded similar to those set in 1910. The title of the song made it to the Oxford English Dictionary in 1986.

The death-metal version of “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” comes with growling vocals as well as fierce drum and guitar accompaniment. It was published by Andy Rehfeldt, who wrote in the description that he arranged and played the music and provided the background vocals along with Sera Hatchett’s vocals.

Prior to this, Rehfeldt also released death metal mashup of "Die Young" by Ke$sha, "Wide Awake" by "Katy Perry and "Blue Suede Shoes" by Elvis Presley as well as a jazz version of Rage Against the Machine's "Killing in the Name" and a reggae version of Eminem's "Love the Way You Lie.”

Rehfeldt also indicated that the “Mary Poppins Sings Death Metal” was recorded and published at Endless Noise’s production studio in Santa Monica, Calif. Published on YouTube on Feb. 24, the video has been viewed more than two million times with 24,000 likes and more than 500 thumbs down. Watch the viral video here:
