Three men were reportedly blackmailed over Skype by a woman for webcam sex. Out of the three reported victims, one man is said to belong from Luton and the other two from Bedford. The offending woman who blackmailed the victims between March 1 and 10 is said to be from abroad.

The offender allegedly built a relationship with the three men after they met online, before persuading them to strip off and perform sexual acts on the telecommunications application.

The men were then allegedly blackmailed by the woman for cash or otherwise their obscene video would be posted online. The Bedford police is now investigating after the case and have issued a public warning about the cyber security.

“We are urging everyone to be really careful about what they post online. Remember, once something has happened online, it is almost impossible to completely remove it so be careful what you share and who you share it with,” said Detective Seargent Sandra Evans, reported LutonToday.

Evans has also urged the public to beware of the intentions of the people whom they meet online and to limit speaking to only those whom they know well in real life.

The police investigation team has also urged the individuals with similar experience of cyber blackmailing to touch base with the police team to help them collect information about such cries and identify the offenders.

To report a similar incident or any other piece of useful information, the concerned individual is requested to contact police at 101 or to Crimestoppers at 0800 555 11.
