"Thor 3" is finally shaping up. The movie has been scheduled for the 2017 release and latest news suggests that Josh Brolin could have a pivotal role to play in the film. The actor who rose to fame for playing the bad guy, Thanos in the "Guardians of the Galaxy," talked about the possibilities of reprising his role and where he sees his character, in the movie scheduled for Marvel's Phase 3.

"The fact that it's so, it's like, Yeah in 2016 and '17, what am I going to be doing? Oh, I'm going to be doing that," he said in his interview to Nuke The Fridge. The actor also said that there are umpteen possibilities for Thanos and he feels lucky that he has got the opportunity to play the iconic bad guy on screen. "Thor 3" is one of the Marvel ventures scheduled for phase 3. Other two films, which will come out in 2017, include "Guardians of the Galaxy 2" and "Black Panther."

Thanos is a comic book super villain and he made his debut in Iron Man comic back #55. Writer-artist Jim Starlin has created him. He is the son of Eternals Mentor and Sui-San and was born on one of the Saturn's moons, Titan. His mother tried to kill him at the birth as he was carrying the genes of Deviants-the super humans. Since his teens he finds pleasure in anarchism and death. He is in love with the Mistress of Death and he even kills his family for her.

According to Enstarz, there is major possibility that Thanos could be brought to Asgrad, to steal the infinity gauntlet and some of the stones. Currently, they are with Odin. The events in "Thor 2" put Asgrad in danger and Thanos may use this opportunity in his favour to get hands on soul gems.

Meanwhile, Brolin will also be seen in the upcoming crime-comedy "Inherent Vice." It is based on the novel by Thomas Pynchon. Brolin will play the character of Det. Christian "Bigfoot" Bjornsen. The film is slated to release on Dec 12, 2014. It also stars Joaquin Phoenix, Owen Wilson, Katherine Waterston, Reese Witherspoon, Benicio del Toro, Jena Malone, Maya Rudolph and Martin Short.
