A “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” video game is in development. The game is already listed in the Australian Classification Board, with Japanese developer Platinum Games, known for the “Bayonetta” series and “Metal Gear: Revengeance,” listed as the creator behind the game.

Dubbed “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan,” the game will be under Activision as well, as per the official board’s website. The new game is rated M (Moderate) due to some violent actions. In Australia, the classification “M” is not legally restricted but is applied to films and games recommended for person aged 15 and above.

Not much is known about the game for now, though Gematsu has confirmed that it would be released on Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4 and PC. Neither Platinum Games nor Activision have spoken out on the record yet. However, the two companies have had a history of work together.

Some of the titles that have come out from Activision and Platinum games include “Transformer Devastation” and “The Legend of Korra.” If Platinum Games develops “TMNT” inspired by the 90’s cartoon series or early comics, the game can be a big hit.

The arrival of “TMNT: Mutants in Manhattan” will add to the many projects with the four undeground-living mutant heroes. Not only with a recently released video game “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows,” but several toys and a cartoon have been released over the years. Reports suggest that Platinum Games has been a leading game developer when it comes to creating third-person action games. The developer’s brilliant track record also suggests that the new project “TMNT: Mutants in Manhattan” will likely prove successful.

From the indie comics to a movie by director Michael Bay and the new CGI cartoon, “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” has had a decades-long history of incarnations. If the developer sticks to the Transformers approach, the chances are they’ll proceed with the original classic cartoons. Whatever it turns out to be, the players will get another choice to enjoy of the world of “TMNT.”

Platinum Games is currently busy with its action role-playing game “Nier: Automata,” which is coming to PS4 in 2016. Also slated to come next year are “Star Fox Zero” for the Wii U and “Scalebound” for the Xbox One.
