With the return of “Teen Wolf” Season 5B, many fans have been looking forward to find out what happens to their favourite characters in the show. Tyler Posey, who plays Scott McCall in the hit MTV series, shared in an interview that the second half of Season 5 will feature his character’s journey in becoming a stronger yet somewhat darker Alpha.

The beginning of “Teen Wolf” Season 5B showed Posey’s character in rock bottom after he lost his pack in the first half of Season 5. He also encountered several challenges in the previous season where he died and was brought back to life.

In an interview with TV Line, Posey mentioned that Scott would need to take several steps to recover and “pick himself back up.” He also described Season 5B as a journey for Scott to get back to where he used to be, but with a darker edge.

“It gave Scott a different perspective, a darker perspective,” Posey told TV Line about his character’s return from the dead. “He’s got a darker edge to him… where he’s still the True Alpha, but he’s got some darkness around his heart. I think he’s becoming a better Scott McCall, one with a better understanding of how the world works.”

However, Posey clarified that Scott’s darker side does not mean that he’s crossed over to being an evil character. “It’s not ‘dark’ like he’s evil. He’s just less happy-go-lucky, which is difficult to explain,” Posey told TV Line. He also shared that his character’s darker side was something that he wanted to explore as a producer. “As a producer, I made the decision to take Scott in this direction without really consulting the writers [Laughs] … I hear Jeff Davis’ input, what he wants for Scott, and then I kind of do my own thing. I love this show so much and I have a lot of great ideas for my character.”

Given the many threats and villains that surround Scott and other characters in “Teen Wolf” Season 5B, TV Line asked Posey who he considers as the real enemy in this season. Posey answered that it wasn’t Theo or the Dread Doctors. “The main enemy is definitely the Beast ... The Beast is, by far, the scariest antagonist of the season.”

Apart from a darker Scott, Posey also shared in a previous interview that “Teen Wolf” Season 5B will feature a lighter tone reminiscent of the series’ first season. However, it does not necessarily mean that the hit MTV series won’t be as exciting as its recent seasons. Posey stated that while Season 5B will be lighter, it "all goes to s--- really fast.”

“Teen Wolf” airs every Tuesday in the US at 9/8c on MTV.
