The team behind “Ninja Gaiden” revealed recently that it’s working on a new entry to one of their popular titles, “Dead or Alive Xtreme.” Sadly, unlike previous titles, the volleyball and beach-themed game will only have an exclusive release in Asia.

In a Facebook post by the official page of “Dead or Alive,” Team Ninja’s Head of Development Yosuke Hayashi confirmed that a third game will come and it is currently in development process. The game was previously announced at the “Dead or Alive” Festival in Tokyo last weekend.

Hayashi also indicated that the game is in its earliest stages of development and will revolve around the women of “Dead or Alive” as they go on yet another tropical island vacation. He added that a new “Dead or Alive Xtreme” game is the number one request from fans.

Team Ninja has been known to adhere to fan’s request before developing a game. Years ago, the developers did the same thing before developing “Dead or Alive 5.” Team Ninja had given its female characters “bigger breasts” upon the request of gamers, Huffington Post reported. The character models were the cause of controversy as the game portrays being "sexy," as having unrealistically oversized breasts.

The last entry for the franchise was, “Dead or Alive Xtreme 2,” which was released for the Xbox 360 in 2006. The original game, 2003’s “Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball,” is a spinoff of the 3D fighting game series that focused on beach volleyball, side activities and relationship simulation. The sequel added a handful of minigames, including tug of war and hopping on pool floats.

Team Ninja’s latest addition to the franchise was “Dead or Alive 5 Last Round,” and it was supposedly the final chapter in the developer’s fighting game. But that doesn’t mean that Team Ninja will forever stay away from the franchise. The developer is still willing to keep the franchise alive with this new chapter to the spinoff. Hayashi is yet to reveal a time frame for the next “Dead or Alive Xtreme.”
