The Turner Classic Movies (TCM) has announced that it is planning a special tribute for legendary actress Elizabeth Taylor following her death on March 23, 2011 at 79.

The network, according to Aceshowbiz has scheduled a 24-hour movie memorial marathon from 6 A.M. beginning Sunday, April 10. Taylor’s 1943 movie "Lassie Come Home" will be the first film to air on TCM special Taylor-tribute .

TCM has also scheduled the actress’s movies that had earned her three Oscar awards including “Butterfield 8” (1960) at 8 P.M. and “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf” (1966)at 10. P.M. The legendary actress won two awards for 1960 “Butterfield” and one for 1966 “Virginia Woolf” film.

The special marathon tribute is also featuring the actress’s 1949 movie, “Conspirator” which according to Aceshowbiz had marked the legendary icon’s first adult role.

TCM has also lined-up more of Taylor’s greatest films including, "Lassie Come Home" (1943), "National Velvet" (1944), "Father of the Bride" (1950), "Father's Little Dividend" (1951), historical epic "Ivanhoe" (1952), "Giant" (1956), "Raintree County" (1957), and "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" (1958).

Other major television networks in America have also joined in in remembering the legendary actress, including BIO Channel and ABC.

BIO channel, said Aceshowbiz is airing on Thursday, March 24 at 8 P.M. ET, a two-hour ‘intimate look’ at the private life of Taylor titled, "BIO Remembers: Elizabeth Taylor". ABC for its part, has aired on Wednesday, 11:35 P.M., a “Nightline” special edition with Barbara Walters entitled, "Remembering Elizabeth Taylor". ABC’s special edition discussed Walters’ experiences during her past interviews with the legendary actress, having sat down for interview with Taylor five times. Walters also shared her 30-year relationship with the movie icon.

Others have issued their official statement expressing their admiration for the actress they have described not only as a friend but also a 'talented actress' and a 'tireless advocate'.

Elizabeth Taylor died in a Los Angeles hospital early Wednesday due to chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases, congestive heart failure and cardiopulmonary arrest. Taylor is scheduled to be buried Thursday afternoon and is expected to be placed where she will be placed near her friend, Michael Jackson at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California.
