2011 has certainly become huge for artists like Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and most especially Adele. They have been busy making tours and grabbing Grammy wins that made everyone suddenly remember where Taylor Swift has been?

After being snubbed at the Grammys for at least the Album of the Year nomination, Taylor Swift emerges again as the number one artist in the list of Billboard's Top 40 Money Makers of 2012.

The 22-year-old country singer had a bigger earning even when you combine the earnings of the rest of other female competitors in the list.

According to Billboard Magazine's computations, she easily earned her top ranking due to the reported amount of $35.7 million as her earnings last 2011.

It was composed of her revenue amount from the sales of 'Speak Now' album plus its tour which came out with a total gross of $88.5 million, just in the US.

Not to mention her royalties since she is the one who writes her own hit songs. It was U2 who came behind her in the list followed by other well known artists in the industry. Even the cast of 'Glee' was included in the list ranking at number 11 and Katy Perry on the 14th spot.

Billboard based their calculations on the data from the Boxscore information with regards to concert grosses. On the other hand, the Nielsen SoundScan is the one who helped out with the data on sales of digital albums, ringtones, and singles.
