Taylor Swift has created history with "1989." Her recently released album has created a new record in the music industry, according to reports.

The 25-year-old singer has set a new record of sitting on number one slot at Billboard's Artist 100 list for 10 weeks in a row. Swift's fifth studio album "1989" was released on Oct. 27 and is occupying the number one place from past 10 weeks, creating a new record.

Inquisitr has reported that Swift's recent stint of holding the top slot for 10 weeks is a big achievement as this is for the first time that someone is able to manage the feat. Her album which propelled her to number one place has now sailed past 2 million sales since its release.

Music critics are claiming that Swift has broken a major record as has sold extra 375,000 units in the past week. Her single "Blank Space" is topping another Billboard list of Hot 100 single's chart with 228000 downloads till Dec. 21. While her close friends Selena Gomez and Kendall Jenner will be reportedly partying in Dubai on New Year's Eve, the singer will be performing in Times Square during "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve With Ryan Seacrest" and is deemed as star attraction of the night.

It is now proclaimed by several tabloids that 2014 has been Swift's year. Her album has sold 1.287 million copies in its first week of release and has earned her the title of the only artist to go platinum in 2014. USA Today has named "1989" as Album Of The Year and Taylor as 2014's Musician Of The Year. The lead single off her last album "Shake It Off" is nominated for a Grammy Award as Song Of The Year.

"There's a lot to celebrate about this past year, and there are so many things I'm looking forward to next," gushed the blonde hit maker in an interview with New York Post. The singer will soon start her "1989 World Tour" which will include places like Tokyo Dome in Tokyo, Ford Field in Detroit, Heinz Field in Pittsburgh and MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. According to latest reports, most of the venues are already booked to their full capacity.
