Six years ago, a girl named Talia Castellano was diagnosed with cancer and interest in makeup helped in distracting her from the ailment. Unfortunately, the 13-year-old bubbly girl who became a YouTube sensation as a makeup guru lost the battle with cancer and passed away on July 16 with family and friends surrounding her.

Talia's family shared the sad news on Facebook. The posted statement reads: "It is with a heavy heart that we share with all of you that Talia has earned her wings at 11:22am. Please lift her beautiful soul, her beautiful light to heaven and please send your love and prayers to her family during this most difficult time. God speed little one, may you be free from pain and suffering, may your soul feel the light and love that you brought to so many of us on this Earth during the short time you were her with us. We will miss you more than you will ever know baby girl."

In 2011, Talia started to post videos on social media site YouTube about her beauty and makeup tips as well as her battle with neuroblastoma and preleukemia, the two types of aggressive cancer. Talia's YouTube channel account taliajoy18 has captivated viewers with her tips and skills on applying makeup from matte bronzer to eyeliner and false eyelashes.

"YouTube and all the support that I get from everyone telling me that I'm inspiring and not to give up, it really makes you stop and think about how many people there are that love you. You're not there alone," Talia shared to Shira Lazar, the co-founder of WhatsTrending, last August 2012.

Talia's inspiring work on YouTube has earned her the opportunity to become the honorary CoverGirl in September 2012. TV host Ellen Degeneres invited the young Talia as a guest on her show to reveal the good news.

In March, Talia revealed to her fans that the cancer was terminal and the doctors already predicted that she only had a couple of months more to live. The teenage girl spent her last six months in and out of the hospital with her mum at her side for radiation treatments.

Ellen DeGeneres immediately expressed her grief on Twitter after receiving the sad news of Talia's death. "This year I met a very special girl, and today we lost her. Sending my heart to Talia's family. I'm so sad," Ellen posted on her Twitter account @TheEllenShow.

When Talia was asked in The Truth 365 video interview about how she would like the people to remember her, the young girl answered: "In a hundred years, I would like to be remembered as the bubbly girl who wanted to do something about childhood cancer."
