Unlike before when users had to wait several months to get jailbreaks for iOS 7 and lower, jailbreaks for the newest iOS and the latest firmware upgrade have been rolling out at unprecedented speed. TaiG has released a new jailbreak for iOS 8.1.1 which had rendered the Pangu Jailbreak of no use.

According to AppAdvice, the TaiG jailbreak can be used for jailbreaking iOS 8 to iOS 8.1.1. Currently, the tool is available only for Windows users and that too it is available in Chinese language. As of now, it is not known when the tool will be made available for Mac users and in English language. The TaiG jailbreak can be performed on the latest iDevices like iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3. Other devices that are compatible with this jailbreak include, iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C, iPhone 5, iPhone 4S, iPod Touch 5th gen, iPad Mini, iPad Mini with Retina Display, iPad Air, iPad 4 and iPad 3.

Even though the tool is available in Chinese, performing a jailbreak by using it is easy for those users who are familiar with jailbreak process. Before the jailbreak process is initiated, it is always advisable to backup your device. Here is how the iOS 8.1.1 jailbreak can be performed with TaiG.

Step 1 - You need to download TaiG by visiting iDownloadBlog and extract the files to the desktop.

Step 2 - Connect your iDevice to your Windows PC. If iTunes is already installed on the PC, it will automatically recognize your device.

Step 3 - Update the device to the latest iOS 8.1.1. The jailbreak also works on devices running on iOS 8.1, iOS 8.0.2 and iOS 8.0.

Step 4 - This step requires the user o disable certain features. By going to Settings > iCloud, disable the Find My iPhone feature. Also, by accessing Settings, the passcode for Touch ID & Passcode should be disabled. Next, the Control Center is to be accessed to switch the iDevice to AirPlane mode.

Step 5 - On the PC, right click on the TaiGJBreak_1006.exe that has been already downloaded and select Run as Administrator and then click on Yes to proceed ahead.

Step 6 - TaiG will automatically identify your iDevice. Then, two options will show up. The first one - Cydia option should not be unchecked but users are required to uncheck the second one. To initiate the process, one should hit the big green button. Within a minute or two the process will complete by showing a smiley, states AppAdvice.

Step 7- The iDevice will automatically restart and the Cydia app will appear on the Home screen.

The TaiG jailbreak for Mac users has not been rolled out yet. Still, user can download and run the Windows 10 Technical Preview and use it on Mac by installling Parallels Desktop and then carry out the procedure mentioned above.
