US fast-food giant Taco Bell has announced a new menu called Cheetos Burritos. This new item uses junk food Cheetos as its main ingredient.

Reports say that this burrito is quite like the company’s Beefy Fritos burrito, but there’s a crunchy addition to it. The burrito contains seasoned meat, rice, cheese sauce and Cheetos. For those who are not familiar with Cheetos, it's a brand of cheese-flavoured, puffed cornmeal treats made by Frito-Lay, a subsidiary of PepsiCo. Now it's an ingredient for Taco Bell's highly anticipated new burrito choice.

According to Taco Bell via Business Insider, the Cheetos Burrito will cost US$1 (AU$1.31). The fast-food giant is adding this unique menu in Cincinnati in the US in mid-August. Reportedly, Canadians have been graced with this burrito-Cheetos mashup for a while now, and the crazy number of orders for it proves the snack’s promising taste.

It’s also noted that this is not the first time Taco Bell experimented with Cheetos as an ingredient for its menu. The fast-food chain also introduced a Cheetos Crunchwrap Slider, launching variations like Beefy Cheddar Cheetos Crunchwrap Sliders and Supreme Cheetos Crunchwrap Sliders. As much as it’s a hit in Canada, it’s yet to make its way to fans in other countries.

As for the taste of this stuffed burrito, Brand Eating reports that it’s not cheesy enough. Cheetos is known for its cheesy taste; however, adding the junk food to the burrito didn’t really up the cheesiness of the Cheetos Burritos. The actual melted cheese is reportedly still the cheesiest part consumers can get from this new menu, and what Cheetos is adding to the burrito taste is essentially the crunchiness. No matter, Cheetos is proving itself to be a unique ingredient to add to fast-food menus.

Cheetos was also used in Burger King’s new menu. In late June, Taco Bell’s competitor launched Mac n’ Cheetos to its fans. The Mac n’ Cheetos went viral online even before hitting the fast-food restaurants. As such, Taco Bell is ready to compete, hopping on the Cheetos craze with their Cheetos Burritos.
