Police investigating graffiti offences discovered a GoPro camera with sexual assault footage of a 16-year-old girl. Five males, one of whom is a 17-year-old boy, are facing aggravated sexual assault charges.

The male offenders were arrested on Wednesday. The attack allegedly took place at a party in the suburbs of western Sydney in St. Clair in May.

In a released statement, the police said the alleged victim appeared to be either unconscious or semi-conscious, while multiple sexual attacks were committed by a number of male offenders. The police alleged that there were eight men in the room and some of them were involved in the assault. The incident was not reported to the authorities.

Police contact has been established with the alleged victim after the incident happened. She is undergoing counselling, according to Detective Chief Inspector Peter Yeomans of the Child Abuse Squad.

The arrested offenders are aged between 17 to 25 years old.

The ABC reports that a 17-year-old was arrested in Wilmont, while two other men, aged 23 and 24, were apprehended in Penrith. Another arrest of a 24-year-old was made at Mt. Druitt. All were charged with multiple sexual assault and aggravated sexual assault in company.

The arrest in St. Mary’s of a 25-year-old man was for concealing a serious indictable offence.

A hearing is scheduled Thursday at Penrith and Mt. Druitt courts. All were refused bail.
