Fans will be delighted to know that Lisbeth and Silica will have ample exposure in "Sword Art Online The Movie: Ordinal Scale.” The upcoming movie will definitely see more of these two characters as confirmed by series creator Reki Kawahara.

In a recent interview for the "Sword Art Online" magazine and the "Dengeki Bungo" publication, Kawahara has teased fans about what to expect from the two characters in the film. He said they will have pivotal roles to play. The series creator said Silica will become an "important key character," per the interview (via Dreadful Decoding). Lisbeth is expected to be an important character in the upcoming film too.

"I even had 120 minutes to work with, so their screen time increased rapidly," Kawahara said as quoted by Crunchyroll. The recent revelation from the series creator seems to suggest that the upcoming film will feature a background story of Lisbeth and Silica.

"Sword Art Online The Movie: Ordinal Scale" will centre on the main character’s experience in playing the computer game. The official website for the upcoming film indicates that the game, "Ordinal Scale,” utilises a new technology called "Augma."

There are reports saying the film will revolve around the introduction of Augma, a new software intended to be a competitor for the "NerveGear" and "Amusphere. According to the film’s official website, the software looks like a single on-ear headset. It was designed with a boom mic extending just under the user's eye that houses a projector system that generates the augmented reality graphics.

It seems there is a lot to be seen from the new Augma as it offers new features. Unlike the "NerveGear" and "Amusphere, it allows players to utilise the "Ordinal Scale" while fully awake. With the new Augma software, players no longer have to be in a sleep-like state to get the most of "Ordinal Scale.”

Last month, Australian film distributor Madman Entertainment, a company known for publishing popular Japanese anime, started streaming an official trailer with English subtitle. The upcoming film also has anime and manga adaptations. The first “Sword Art Online” anime aired in 2012, with a sequel for the anime adaptation in 2014.

"Sword Art Online The Movie: Ordinal Scale" is slated to hit Australian and US theatres on March 9. The film’s Australian and US premiere takes place after the film debuts in Japan and other Southeast Asian regions. Fans can now grab their tickets for the official nationwide release online.
