The tech giant has revealed its newest app called Sway, which works for both PC's and mobile devices, including the iPad and iPhones. Microsoft plans to stop the current popularity of Prezi, a web presentation app.

Microsoft has announced Sway last October and has sent out several invites to journalists in November. Currently, Sway is still in Preview mode. According to a blog, it has already been 10 weeks since the Sway preview started and has already received more than a million unique visitors to Sway's website. It has already gained 175,000 requests to join.

The blog also added that an updated build of Sway for iPhone is now ready for download in Australia and in New Zealand. The updated build includes some key improvements based on listening to customer reactions to the first version. Updates include: an Offline support, now users can start creating Sway presentations even if there is no Internet connection. It also has a Support for adding background images for titles and section headers (like you can in Sway on the web). Lastly, it has an updated design to support iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus devices.

Sway enables users to drag and drop photos, videos, computer files, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter or even cloud storage. It is compatible with any web browser on PC, Mac or tablet and works as an app for any smartphone.

Based on its website, the software is used to easily create and share different creations through interactive and web-based canvas. Since it is seamlessly integrated with OneDrive, social networks and the web, it helps user save time by not switching between different apps to pull together certain contents. Sway also offers creative tools that help users adjust the design to create a look that will reflect the user's unique style, Business Insider reports.

On the other hand, Prezi is Powerpoint's major counterpart and is said to be a versatile app, which allows user to make professional-looking presentations. The app lets users create casual or formal presentations and even allows users to add information to each presentation, organise it in a logical manner and even allows adding of audio and video files. Currently, Prezi is popular with the younger bracket and has about 50 million users.
