Since the end of the previous year, the rumours of the Surface Pro 3 successor model have been swirling. However, Microsoft surprised the tech world by releasing a Surface 2 successor called the Surface 3. What about the Surface Pro 4? It was earlier predicted that the Surface Pro 3 successor will come out in June or July this year. However, it seems that the Surface Pro 4 release date is set for later this year.

Critics and Surface Pro 3 fans are waiting for Microsoft to release the Surface Pro 4 laptop-tablet hybrid device. However, there has been no confirmation on the device from its manufacturer. According to Inquistr, the Surface Pro 4 will probably arrive when the Windows 10 is released. It will be the first device to come preloaded with Windows 10.

Microsoft is expected to release the Windows 10 OS in October this year. It will be available as free upgrade for Windows 8.1 devices. According to Venture Capital Post (VC Post), the display of the Surface Pro 4 will be supporting 4K resolution (2160 x 1440 pixels). Speculations are also rife that Microsoft may unveil two models of the Surface Pro 4 tablet, one will feature a 12-inch display and the other one will house a 14-inch display.

Rumours are also indicating that the Surface Pro 4 will be powered by Skylake chipset that is slated to release in August this year. It will be available in processor variants like the Intel Core i5 and i7. The Surface Pro 4 will be available with up to 16 GB of RAM.

Phone Arena claims that Surface Pro 4 will come with 1 TB of storage space. Both the variants of the Surface Pro 4 will come with stylus and detachable keyboards. It will also come with support for LTE connectivity.

The Microsoft Surface Pro 4 is expected to roll out with a costlier price tag. VC Post will be costing $1000 to $2000. The unreleased iPad Pro from Apple is also going to arrive with a stylus for digital inking, reports Inquistr. It will be one of the major rivals of the Surface Pro 4.
