The CW recently released the official "Supernatural" Season 9 poster asking fans to prepare for an intense new season as the tagline reads "Prepare for the fall." The poster features main cast members, Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki as the Winchester brothers, with co-stars, Mark Sheppard and Misha Collins, in the background as demon Crowley and angel-turned-human Castiel.

The "Supernatural" Season 9 tagline is obviously picked up from the previous season's finale where the angels were falling down from Heaven. "We've got lots of angels out there with lots of different agendas. Many are feelings lost and vengeful. A world of fallen angels is a dirty, bloody, scary and, in some ways, a very human world," executive producer Jeremy Carver revealed at the 2013 San Diego Comic Con.

Actor Jensen Ackles shared details as well to E!Online on angel Castiel transforming into a human being and how his character, Dean Winchester, reacts to it. "It's going to be interesting. Castiel has been such a valuable tool to Dean over the past few years and I don't know if he's going to have him come clean his room; I don't know what's going to happen!" the 35-year-old actor stated.

The previously released promo photos and videos for "Supernatural" Season 9 shows Abaddon's evil plan of taking the throne from Crowley and having all of the "angels with clipped wings" bow down to her. One of them includes fallen angel Ezekiel portrayed by "Battlestar Galactica" actor Tahmoh Penikett.

Other faces expected to be seen in "Supernatural" Season 9 include "Whodunnit?" host Gildart Jackson, actor Jim Beaver who will return as Bobby Singer, Felicia Day reprising her red-haired geek hunter character Charlie Bradbury and Alaina Huffman ready to be the troublemaker to Sam and Dean Winchester as demon Abaddon.

The official "Supernatural" Season 9 premiere synopsis on the Hollywood Reporter reads: "Dean is frantic after Sam collapses and the doctor tells Dean his brother won't make it. Desperate, Dean sends out an all points bulletin via prayer to every angel in the area, asking them to help his brother. In exchange, Dean will owe that angel a favor. Numerous angry angels race to find and kill Dean, but one, Ezekiel, gets to him first. Meanwhile, Sam fights for his life and must face some familiar demons to do so. Castiel struggles to survive without powers."

Furthermore, the HuffingtonPost reports that fans can expect a "Supernatural" spin-off series that will "explore the clashing monster and human characters" and "have main characters who are both human and monsters." The brand new season of "Supernatural" is set to return on Tuesday, Oct. 8, at 9 p.m. on the CW network.
